Measure plans and export quantities

CivilTakeoff measures civil quantities from PDF plans in the browser: areas, lengths, and counts with vertex editing, automatic area pickup on supported vector sheets, scale read from the title block with your confirmation, and full-text search across the set. Quantities organize by pay item and export as XLSX that opens in Excel for Mac like any other spreadsheet.

Sign in from another computer to continue work on the same project. A team with Pro estimator seats can measure and edit together across Mac and Windows. Invite free viewers when someone only needs to review the sheets and quantities.

File and connection requirements

  • Set scale on each sheet. Calibrate against a known dimension before measuring.
  • No surface-based cut and fill. Surface-based earthwork volumes require a separate tool.
  • Automatic pickup needs vector PDFs. Scanned sheets calibrate and measure by hand.
  • An internet connection is required. Use the app in your browser on Mac or Windows.
