Takeoff Collaboration

Takeoff collaboration lets your team work from the same project in CivilTakeoff. Estimators can measure and edit the takeoff, add markup, and discuss questions in comments. Free view-only users can review the sheets and quantities. The free plan includes 1 estimator seat.

Pro estimator seats let team members measure, edit, and comment in the same project.

Share the project and assign access

Projects are shared through the organization. An estimator’s changes appear to other people working in the project, so the team can divide the plan set without maintaining separate copies of the takeoff. Use clear condition names to identify the work each person is measuring.

Estimator seats can add annotations such as pins, callouts, clouds, highlights, and freehand marks. Threaded comments and mentions keep a question connected to its location on the sheet.

View-only access lets people read sheets and quantities. Assign an estimator seat to anyone who needs to edit measurements, comment, export, or print.

An estimator can export the combined quantities to Excel or create a marked-up PDF set for review. Takeoff and annotation layers can be included separately when preparing the printed set.

Example: two estimators on one plan set

In a Pro workspace with two estimator seats, one person measures paving and concrete while the other measures utilities. Both use the same project and keep their conditions named by scope. A project manager reviews the quantities through free view-only access. If the reviewer needs to mark up a question in the app, assign an estimator seat first.

Requirements and limits

Shared work requires an internet connection. Free includes 1 estimator seat; additional estimators require Pro seats. Viewers cannot edit measurements, comment, export, or print.
